Sorry to those of you getting duplicate posts...
I am in the process of dismantling a large post-production facility in
Bethesda, MD. We are removing all equipment and racks for re-use or
storage/sale, but nobody has the interest or resources to salvage all
It occured to me that there might be an opportunity to donate some of
this cable to a "charitable" organization--school, university, research
facility, public access television, etc. It would simply require
sending over some manpower to remove it, and a large vehicle to cart it
away! We have until the end of August to accomplish this.
The facility housed 40 edit rooms and hundreds of VTRs, so there are
literally miles and miles of high-quality video coax, audio multi-pair,
control and CAT5 cable, etc. which could be taken out in lengths as long
as 200 feet, or as short as you like (with or without connectors in most
cases). I can give more specifics if desired.
If you have an organization that might be interested, or could suggest
one, please contact me off-list at [log in to unmask]
