this is Sean Jonpaul, formerly of the Munich Filmmuseum Film Archive. Yes,
Potemkin was restored, in fact one of my colleagues, Gerhard Ullmann - our
Film Restoration expert - was personally responsibly for hand painting every
red flag in the restored 35mm print. If it's available, I'm not sure. I'll
forward your email to Klaus Volkmer at the Filmmuseum and, fyi, his email is
[log in to unmask] He would be able to tell you if one is available.
Maybe you should just directly send him an email and ask him. Whether or not
that print was fully restored or just reconstructed i'm not sure. I do know
however that it premiered at the Berlin Film Festival last year and was
quite a splash.
