I suggest you look at R. Ruether's 'Virginal Feminism in the Fathers of
the Church' in _Religion and Sexism_ and E. Castelli's 'Virginity and its
Meaning for Women's Sexuality' in _Journal of Feminist Studies in
Religion_, 2:55-67.
